where do you live now? amsterdam
when did you move here? and why? i moved here in the end of december last year with my boyfriend. i’m born and raised in stockholm and im traveling a lot through work but wanted to live somewhere else for a while. i tried to live in nyc and even though i love it there its too much and too big. i visited amsterdam just on two short weekends before but had a good feeling about it and so did my boyfriend.

what do you do here? working as a freelance stylist and running the digital atelier space matters.
what does a normal day entail for you? working from my laptop, biking to meetings and still exploring the city.
what makes amsterdam so special? a lot of people only discover amsterdam’s more touristy spots and forget that this town has so much to offer. it’s such a nice vibe all over town and feels very alive, it even kind of reminds me of nyc sometimes haha. i love that is so small and that you can bike everywhere even though the city never gets boring.
favorite coffee spot? back to black, best coffee and a really cosy place by the canals.
favorite farmers market? i live close to dappermarkt so i buy all my food here mostly.
favorite dinner spot? mossel & gin and bak restaurant.
where do you like to shop? vintage store laura dolls
favorite local fashion label? rika & anecdote.
where do you take friends who are visiting from out of town? distilleerderij ’t nieuwe diep, a distillery by a small lake in flevopark where only locals hang out.
where is your favorite place for a drink? the wine bar glou glou.
and your favorite park? oosterpark!
any other secret finds we should know about in amsterdam? take the ferry to noord, a more industrial side of amsterdam where there is great bars, cafés and sometimes clubs. its a mix of brooklyn, downtown la and berlin. i love the creative vibe! my favorite places here are de ceuvel, noorderlicht and hotel goudfazant.
where is your next holiday…? going to the countryside in sweden and road trip by the north coast of france in the summer.
what 5 things do you always pack? turtleneck, jeans, a party dress, sneakers and my byredo perfume.
what are some of the quirky things you always do when traveling? take photos of retro signs.
